Professional Experience
Information Security Specialist / Network Engineer, June 2005 - Present

United States Department of Defense , Hill AFB, Utah

At present my employment encompasses many areas of the IT spectrum. Some of which are as follows, network security scans and analysis, intrusion detection and resolution, custom web-engineering (ASP, ASP.NET, C#, Perl), secure web architecture (Certificate Creation, Configuration, and Installation resulting in SSL). Also I oversee preparation for annual inspections including Unit Compliance Inspections, and Unit Self Inspections, which involves record management and strategy development to resolve compliance issues. As well as assisting in number of other projects and tasks associated with other groups and organizations.

Manager of Technical Services ,October 2004 - Present

Inceptio Medical Technologies , Kaysville, Utah

My responsibilities as Manager of Technical Services included overseeing the production and development of the company’s line of Ultrasonic Vascular Imaging devices. As well I managed the software and operating system development for the product line, which is based in Windows XP Embedded, which I have customized to the units specifications, along with a custom graphical user-interface. During my time with the company I played a major role in developing the company’s quality system and good manufacturing practices, which was critical because of the ties to the FDA and the need to remain compliant. I also personally managed the companies IT needs and overall infrastructure, which include LAN, WAN, VPN support, and website development. More or less if someone in the company had a technical question I was the person with the answers.

Network Technician and Unix Specialist,October 2004 - April 2005

Flying-J Corporation, Ogden, Utah

During my employment with Flying-J Corporation, I worked directly with off-site locations to provide 24-hour technical support for the company’s international UNIX network. This involved many aspects of computer and network troubleshooting as well as the ability to explain complex tasks to people with no technical experience over the phone and then help them perform the given task. This position also required me to help maintain literally hundreds of remote UNIX and Windows servers, as well as corresponding backups for each of them.

Data Systems Analyst & Consultant, October 2002 - October 2004 The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Santiago, Chile

I designed and implemented computer systems, LAN and WAN networks, and a centralized reporting and information system that has become a standard for the church in Chile. The information system which I designed and implemented to specification, has saved over 40 man hours per week and increased the ability of this organization to communicate with its people.

I worked as a paid intern for Davis County School Districts. I worked with the system administrator to maintain and upgrade the school's Novell 5.0 network. This involved working with hundreds of teachers and employees. The network was composed of 8 different servers, 450 client computers, 30 different high traffic routers, and over 1,000 nodes.
